I found this lightweight, cotton and cashmere blend sweater a few years ago at Trader K's, a local reuse clothing store. The sweater's original length and shape never seemed quite right on me, but the texture is yummy: a perfect candidate for a quick refashion. First, I drew a straight line with blue chalk across the back, between the top of both belt loops. Next, I drew a straight chalk line on the front from the top of the belt loops diagonally down to the bottom hem, approximately one-half inch outside the ribbing band that runs up both sides of the front and around the neck. Then I just chopped off the excess and did a 3-thread overlock on my serger to finish the new raw edge. SO easy!

As for the polka dot pants, changing the closure from the front to the back slowed me down and they will not be completed for the Pattern Review Ready-To-Wear Contest, but I hope to finish them this weekend. And start the McCall's Trench Coat.
This looks GREAT on you! Excellent remake. Too bad you didn't complete the pants in time for the contest. But at least you'll have a new pair of pants to wear!
